Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Flag Sentry LLC, operating the FlagSentry brand and product family (“FlagSentry,” “Company,” “we,” “us,” and “our”), collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit our website, create an account, purchase products, use a FlagSentry device, or use our dashboard, messaging, and related services.
By using the FlagSentry website, products, or services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and supplements the FlagSentry Terms of Use, Terms of Sale, and Product Disclaimers.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly and information generated through your use of our products and services, including:
- Account information: name, organization, email address, mobile phone number, username, and password.
- Order and billing information: shipping address, billing address, order history, and payment information (processed by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers).
- Device information: device identifiers, firmware version, configuration, status, sensor readings, location of the installed device, and connectivity details reported by your FlagSentry device.
- Communications: messages you send us, support requests, and your preferences for email and text-message notifications.
- Usage and technical data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and similar information collected automatically when you use the website or dashboard.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- create and manage your account and authenticate your sign-in, including two-factor authentication and login-approval messages;
- process, fulfill, and support your orders;
- operate, monitor, and update your FlagSentry device and dashboard;
- send transactional and account notifications you have requested, including by email and text message;
- provide customer support and respond to your requests;
- detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security issues; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
3. SMS / Text Messaging
If you opt in, FlagSentry may send you transactional text (SMS) messages about your account and your FlagSentry device. There are two separate opt-ins in your FlagSentry account settings, and each is off by default:
- Device & account alerts. By providing your mobile number and checking “Enable SMS alerts to cell phone,” you consent to receive automated alerts about your device and account, such as device offline/online, motor or stow faults, low voltage, SD-card faults, half-staff orders, SIM data-usage warnings, and possible-theft notices.
- Two-step sign-in. By enabling two-step sign-in and providing and confirming your own mobile number, you consent to receive account-security messages, such as one-time sign-in approval links.
These messages are transactional and are sent only in response to your own account, device, and sign-in activity; we never send marketing texts. Message frequency varies based on your account and device activity. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, and you can get help by replying HELP or emailing admin@flagsentry.com. You may also turn off these options in your account settings. For a full description of the program and how to opt in, see our SMS / Text Message Alerts page.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service and message delivery, is permitted. All other use-case categories exclude text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with, or sold to, any third parties.
4. How We Share Information
We share information only as needed to operate our business and provide our products and services, including with:
- service providers and subcontractors that support us, such as hosting, payment processing, message delivery (for example, our SMS and email providers), shipping carriers, and customer support tools;
- manufacturers, suppliers, and fulfillment partners, solely to fulfill your orders;
- professional advisors and authorities where required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security; and
- a successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to this Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share mobile phone numbers or text-messaging opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The website and dashboard use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to sign you in, keep your session secure, and operate site features. We may also use limited analytics to understand and improve how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.
6. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed credentials, and hashed device tokens. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide our products and services, maintain your account, fulfill orders, comply with legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
8. Your Choices
- Text messages: reply STOP to any message to opt out, or turn off two-step sign-in in your account settings.
- Email: use the unsubscribe link in non-essential emails, or contact us. We may still send transactional messages necessary to operate your account and orders.
- Account information: review and update your account details in the dashboard, or contact us to request changes.
